Tree work we do in Parker

Parker has a more rural feel than most of the cities around it, with larger lots and more trees on each one. That brings a different set of jobs:

  • Large tree removal on open properties
  • Dead tree removal before trees fall on their own
  • Deadwood removal from big shade trees
  • Clearing limbs over long drives and fence lines
  • Grinding several stumps in one visit

“From the time I originally contacted them for a quote to the job completion was super fast. Their work fabulous and I’m very happy with the outcome.”

Most Parker jobs are assessed by Taylor Guynes, an independent ISA Certified Arborist #TX-4334A (opens in a new tab), who holds a BS in Forestry from Texas A&M. Meet Taylor.

Tree services in Parker

Tree service for Parker’s larger lots

More land usually means more trees, and more trees that nobody has looked at in a while. On bigger properties it’s common to find a dead tree out by the fence line, a few big limbs dying back over the drive and a couple of stumps from trees that came down years ago. It makes sense to handle them together, and we’ll quote the whole list on one sheet so you can pick what to do now and what can wait.

Open space helps in some ways and not others. A tree with room around it can sometimes be felled in fewer pieces. A tree near the house, a barn or a fence still needs to come down in sections, roped and lowered with care. Either way, the plan starts with a look from an independent ISA Certified Arborist (opens in a new tab) trained in forestry and knows how North Texas trees age.

Dead trees deserve attention even when they’re far from the house. They get more brittle every season, and a spring storm can bring them down across a fence or a drive. Taking them out on your schedule is easier than cleaning up after one falls. Our crew comes out from Plano, and the job isn’t done until the wood and debris are gone.

What makes Parker different

Parker is a small town in Collin County (opens in a new tab), just east of Plano, and it feels a world away from the busy suburbs around it. Lots are larger, houses sit farther apart and many properties have pasture, tree lines, ponds or outbuildings. A drive out from our Plano office takes you past subdivisions and then, fairly quickly, into wide open space.

More land means a mix of trees you don’t see as much in town. Alongside planted live oaks and red oaks, there are older pecans, cedar elms, hackberries and eastern red cedars growing along fence lines and creeks, many of them never pruned. Some came up on their own decades ago. On these properties it’s common to find a few trees that died quietly in a drought year and are still standing, getting more brittle every season.

The soil is the same heavy North Texas clay found across Collin County, and the storms are the same too. The difference is scale. When a big tree comes down on a large lot, it may land across a fence, a gravel drive or a barn roof instead of a neighbor’s yard. That’s why we like to walk the whole property and look at more than the one tree you called about.

Leave it, prune it or take it out?

On a bigger property you don’t have to deal with every tree at once. Some can be left alone for now. The ones near what you use every day deserve attention first.

Fine to keep or prune

  • A healthy tree with some deadwood that can be cleaned out
  • Low limbs over a drive that just need raising
  • A tree out in the pasture with nothing under it
  • Volunteer trees that give shade and aren’t crowding anything
  • A big shade tree with a solid trunk and full canopy

Time to take it down

  • A dead tree that could fall on a fence, drive or barn
  • Trees leaning toward the house or an outbuilding
  • A tree with heavy decay at the base
  • Crowded volunteers shading out a better tree
  • A tree already dropping big limbs on a path you use

What affects the price of tree work on larger lots

Parker jobs are often bigger lists rather than single trees. The cost depends on what’s on the list and where each tree sits on the property:

  • Number of trees and stumps. A longer list takes more time, but doing it in one visit is more efficient than spreading it out.
  • Tree size. Large pecans and oaks mean more wood to cut, move and haul.
  • Room to work. A tree in the open may come down in fewer pieces. One near a barn or fence has to be lowered in sections.
  • Distance from the drive. Trees far from where trucks can go mean more hauling across the property.
  • Dead or decayed wood. Dead trees can be brittle and unpredictable, so they need extra care to take down safely.
  • What happens to the wood. Hauling everything off costs more than leaving firewood or chips on site, if that suits you.

You’ll get one written quote that lists each tree and stump separately, so you can choose what to do now and what can wait. The price on paper is the price you pay.

What to expect on a Parker job

  • Walk the list. The crew lead goes tree by tree with you so there’s no confusion about which ones are included.
  • Plan the path. We agree where trucks can drive, so we stay off soft ground, septic areas and anything else you care about.
  • Work the big trees first. Larger removals and the trees near structures get done while the crew is fresh.
  • Grind and finish. Stumps on the list are ground, and smaller pruning is done to round out the visit.
  • Clean up or leave wood. We haul off what we agreed and stack or leave the rest where you asked.

How to get ready

  • Mark the trees you want us to look at, or plan to walk with us
  • Tell us where the septic, wells or buried lines are
  • Open gates and move livestock away from the work area
  • Let us know if the ground is soft after rain
  • Decide if you want to keep any wood for firewood

Parker tree service questions

Can you quote several trees and stumps at once?

Yes, and on larger properties that’s usually the smart way to do it. We’ll walk the whole list with you and put each item on one written quote, so you can decide what to tackle now.

Can I keep the wood for firewood?

Ask during the walk-through. If leaving some wood on the property works for the job, we’ll note it on your quote so it’s clear what we haul off and what stays.

A dead tree is far from my house. Does it still need to come down?

Not always right away, but it’s worth a look. Dead trees get weaker over time and can fall across fences, drives or paths. We’ll tell you honestly how urgent it is.

Do you remove trees near barns and outbuildings?

Yes. Any tree close to a structure gets the same careful approach we use beside a house, taken down in sections and lowered with ropes.

Can you clear brush and small volunteer trees too?

We can take out smaller trees and limbs as part of a larger job. Tell us what you have in mind during the walk-through and we’ll put it on the quote so it’s clear what’s included.

Will your trucks damage my property?

We plan the route with you before we drive anywhere and keep heavy equipment off soft or wet ground when we can. If conditions aren’t right after a lot of rain, we’ll talk about waiting a few days.

Are there rules about removing trees in Parker?

It can depend on the property, the tree and any HOA rules where you live. Check with the City of Parker (opens in a new tab) and your HOA if you have one. We can help you think it through.

Get it priced in writing.

Tell us about the tree. An expert walks the property, then you get the price in writing before any work starts.
